Section 1 - Compute the Corner Move

First, let's determine the move and latitude or north/south direction. A good approach to this problem is to say it like this: The temporary stake is 40 chains North of the identified one-quarter section corner of Sections 35 and 36.

You can use either of the north/south control corners and their corresponding distances to the temporary stake, but for now, let's use this one.

Next, from the same one-quarter corner, the proportionate position of the corner point in latitude is North 37.97. Now, since the temporary stake is 40 North and the true corner point is only 37.47 North. The move in latitude would be South 2.53.
