Section 1 - Compute the Corner Move

Next, calculate the move in departure, the east/west move. This time let's use the one-quarter corner of Sections 25 and 36. The temporary stake is West 38.46 from this control corner.

From the same one-quarter corner, the proportionate position in departure is West 40.13 chains.

So, if the temporary stake is West 38.46 and the true corner point is West 40.13, the move in departure should be West 1.67.
