Section 2 - Grant Boundary Adjustment

Two other examples of irregular boundaries are Alaska SMALL TRACKS and mining claim surveys. It is desirable to maintain the original shape when resurveying these tracks.

According to Section 5-44 of the manual the grant boundary method of adjustment is essentially a rotation and scale change by which the record bearings are uniformly rotated left or right and the record distances are lengthened or shortened proportionally. In other words, all the legs between found corners are rotated in angle by the same amount and in the same direction.
