Section 1 - Calculate True Bearing and Distance

In this case, it is a good idea to double check both bearing and distance. We have calculated the proportionate position for the corner. We have calculated and checked the cardinal moves from the temporary stake to the corner point. Now, let's calculate the true bearings and distances for the correct proportionate line.

Start again with the one-quarter section corner of Sections 35 and 36. The sketch shows only cardinal retracement data between the one quarter corner and the temporary corner stake.

This sketch shows the moves we made from the temporary stake to be the true proportionate point.

If we combine these figures, that is, total the cardinal data, we will arrive at the cardinal data for the true line.
