In the case of departure, since the record position is East 11.29 and the adjustment is West, subtract the adjustment. That is, 11.29 East minus 2.58 West equals 8.71 East departure.

Now, compute the bearing of the hypotenuse. It will be the same as the bearing of the closing error, North 70 degrees West, they are parallel to each other.
