Now that the general procedure has been explained, let's work an example. Here is a sketch of an irregular boundary with bearings and distances.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This sketch shows the retracement along this irregular boundary. Notice that the record bearing and distances were run, placing a temp at the missing corner. At the end of the record courses, a tie was made to the found corner.

 

 

 

 

 

As we've done in previous problems, reduce the retracement to cardinal equivalents. To determine departure of the closing error, D1, trig is used.
