Since we placed the temp stake at 40 chains North, we've gone too far. We'll have to go just 0.10 chains South to correct it. Our departure is only 0.18, but we calculated that it should be 0.30. So, we shift 0.12 chains further east.

These moves, south and east, give us the exact proportionate position we need on the ground.

All that's left is to determine the true bearing and distance of our final line.
