Now, we are going to tackle a problem like one you will often find
in the field. As in all field problems, the first things necessary
to compute a single proportionate corner restoration are first,
the record courses, and second the retracement courses. Here is
the record course between Sections 1 and 2. Note the fractional
distance indicating the one-quarter corner is not at midpoint.
Here is the retracement, shown in Lat. and Dep. format (cardinal
equivalents), and notice the one-quarter corner is lost. Also notice
that another complication exists. There are departures indicated
in each retracement line, East 0.18, East 0.17 and a final falling
of 0.24.
