By definition a mile equals 80 chains. But even though a retracement
may find that a certain mile is actually 85 chains, it may still
be referred to as a mile of line. The term "temp" is short
for temporary and is used in reference to the temporary corner stake
that a surveyor sets at or near the record position. A small circle
usually indicates a temp or temporary corner stake, but is sometimes
used to symbolize a traverse point, or a point on line from which
an angle is turned or a tie is made.
"P" in this program, symbolizes the proportionate distance
or the proportioned distance or point.
A triangle as shown is used to denote a closing corner.
